Friendly Bags LLC is a company dedicated to helping businesses become more eco-friendly and environmentally conscious. We are a US company with branches in the UK, Europe and Israel. We believe that companies need to take environmental responsibilities in their business, and still retain their customers while increasing their satisfaction. In these times of eco-awareness, both individuals and businesses need to take responsibility for our precious planet. Though this concept is well-known, it is still clouded by many preconceptions as to their implementation; such as the high costs involved, the disruption of business activity and customer purchase behavior. This is why we believe in helping businesses not only become more eco-friendly, but also become a guiding light for those other individuals and businesses that are still shrouded in the misconceptions about being “green”. For us “being green” is something that should NOT be considered as a marketing move or a sales pitch, but rather as a holistic lifestyle of conducting business.

Companies are usually thought to be influenced to become more environmentally conscious by their customers. Though this may be true for some businesses, we believe they shouldn’t. At Friendly Bags LLC we believe in making companies more eco-friendly in such a way that they may also influence their customers, their suppliers, their counterparts, and even… their competitors.

Eco-consciousness is only the beginning of it all; environmental awareness does not only pertain to eco-friendliness with regards to our planet, but also to our surroundings, be they the nature that surrounds us, our living quarters, or our social environment. We believe in conducting our business in a friendly manner (hence our NAME), and not in the traditional, cold, business-like fashion thought by many to be the way to conduct business. Our Products

Our Friendly Bags are unique insofar as that we use a patented biodegradable additive, which was invented by a professor at a Chinese university, who then patented the product and the process. He then commissioned a factory to manufacture the biodegradable additive, which is made from all natural plant fibers.

At different times of the year, different plants are used, depending on which crops are harvested at the time. There are many biodegradable bags made from corn-starch on the market today (mainly in China) - most of which do not pass European Biodegradability Standards, which apart from verifying the biodegradability of the bags, make sure that the bags biodegrade 90% within a period of 6 months.

We do NOT use any such starches. Our Friendly Bags are made from a mixture of plastic resin and a plant fiber additive made from the actual plant fibers. The two are “fused” together during the manufacturing process, and therefore, it is no longer “plastic” as such. Thus, once exposed to the open air, in waterways, or buried under the ground, micro-organisms start eating the bags as they contain the plant fibers.

Moreover, our additive is never made from plants grown especially for making our bags, as is the case for some corn-starch and potato-starch bags. The plant fibers used to make the additive are extracted from seasonal harvests. The plant is used for other purposes, such as food, and instead of discarding the rest of the plant, its fibers are utilized to make the patented additive used to make our biodegradable bags.

One never knows what happens to the product after it is disposed of, and in our business, this factor is the most important. This is eco-consciousness at its best!
